Vacation Bible School

July 1st – July 3rd 2024

Vacation Bible School at Trinity

VBS stands for Vacation Bible School!  Where children from 4 years old through 6th grade learn all about Jesus, our Savior.   Older students graduating from 7th grade — 18 years of age are welcome to volunteer as Youth Helpers.

Contact VBS@TrinityIthaca.org to receive a registration link for more information, for both Youth and Adult volunteers.

VBS at Trinity Lutheran Church is FREE! Over the five days, we do collect a free will offering for a mission project.  Last year, our mission project raised approximately $10,207 for the Feed My Starving Children Mobile FoodPack in Ithaca.  We also collected donations of clothing. Be prepared for a lot of fun and excitement!

Children join groups based on the grade they have just completed.  Each group has an adult guide plus several helpers to take the children through a series of rotations.  Every day, the children see & hear the Bible story of the day, learn a theme verse, do a craft, sing great songs, see themed skits, and have time for snack/recreation.

Our Mission Project

The Mission Project for Vacation Bible School this year is support for Ithaca’s Feed My Starving Children MobilePack event. Feed My Starving Children® is a Christian non-profit committed to feeding God’s starving children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children. These meals are shipped to distribution partners around the world.  3,146,045 meals shipped to date

Feed My Starving Children operates four full-time food packaging facilities in the Midwest. In addition, for big community events (100,000 meals or larger), they offer the opportunity for people to participate in what they call “MobilePack” events. During these events people take bulk, nutritionally balanced food of four types (rice, vegetables, soy, and vitamins) and combine them into smaller meal packets.  These packets are then boxed and shipped to villages, where agencies distribute the food for at least one full year at that same location. For the MobilePack event, 100% of your financial help goes directly towards the food we will be packing.
